The Water Smart Landscapes Rebate program rewards homeowners for replacing real grass with water-efficient alternatives. This initiative helps reduce overall water usage in Southern Nevada while supporting homeowners in upgrading their yards.
The first step is submitting your application online. You’ll need details like property type, grass area size, and photos of the existing lawn. Once your application is reviewed and approved, SNWA sends an inspector to verify the grass area.
After approval, you’re allowed to remove the grass and begin your redesign. Approved replacements include artificial turf, rock, DG, drought-tolerant plants, and drip irrigation. Hardscape features such as patios and walkways can also be part of the new layout.
Once the project is completed, a final inspection is conducted. If everything meets the program standards, you receive your rebate payment based on the total converted square footage.
This rebate is a valuable opportunity for Las Vegas homeowners to upgrade their yards, save money, and support water conservation at the same time.
